Native Vegetation Information Sessions

In response to an increasing number of requests the North West Local Land Services is running a series of information sessions over the next few weeks.
Held at venues throughout the region the aim of the information sessions is to assist land holders demystify the current codes.
The information sessions will look at the three self-assessable codes of practice available for the clearing of invasive native scrub, paddock trees in cultivation and thinning of thick native vegetation.
Each session will explain the three codes , notification procedure, regrowth and routine agricultural management activities.
"The focus of the sessions is what a landholder can do to manage native vegetation on their property now.
"We have had lots of enquiry from people who want to know what the current rules and regulations are, so it seemed a good idea to run the sessions across the region", said Native Vegetation Team Leader, Dennis Boschma .
Local Land Services role in regard to native vegetation codes is to assist landholders to understand the self-assessable codes and undertake final approval if necessary.
The North West LLS native vegetation team will be visiting Walgett, Lightening Ridge, Narrabri Warialda, Moree, Manilla, Tamworth and Quirindi conducting information sessions.
