Natural resource management funding program open

Applications are now open for the North West Local Land Services 2016 natural resource management grants.

$1.4 million dollars is earmarked for on-ground projects across the North West region.

The North West Local Land Services Natural Resource Management programs are funded through the National Landcare Programme and Catchment Action NSW.

Peter Dawson, Acting Team Leader Natural Resource Management with North West Local Land Services, encourages land managers and groups across the North West region to apply for funding.

Applications are encouraged that:

  • protect and manage rivers and creeks
  • control total grazing pressure in rangelands
  • manage key emerging invasive weeds to improve native vegetation condition
  • improve habitat for threatened species
  • revegetate
  • regenerate native vegetation.

"If you have a potential project in mind please call your nearest North West Local Land Services office and ask to talk to a member of the Natural Resource Management team, who can assist you with the guidelines and application process," Mr Dawson said.

"Alternatively, visit our website for a copy of the program guidelines and expression of interest form."

Expressions of Interest must be submitted by the close of business on Friday 30 September 2016.
